About RBHS

The Rochester Baseball Historical Society is certified by the New York State Board of Regents as an educational organization and is dedicated to the preservation, research, and dissemination of the baseball history of greater Rochester, New York. The society is a network that facilitates these goals through publications, presentations and the promotion of our region’s long and rich baseball heritage.

The Rochester Baseball Historical Society began in 2007 as a “hot stove” group, with humble beginnings as members gathered around Priscilla Astifan’s stove in her Webster, New York home and discussed baseball history. In early 2012 a refined mission statement and charter were adopted and a board of directors was appointed. RBHS was incorporated by the New York State Board of Regents on July 15, 2013 (click here to view approval by NYS Board of Regents).

RBHS sponsors educational exhibits and presentations and is very active in the greater Rochester community. Our partners include the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), the Rochester Red Wings, Rochester Community Baseball, the Rochester Public Library system, Genesee Country Village & Museum and other local organizations.
